Lead Bartender.

ABOUT THE POSITION

VCC is seeking a Head Bartender. At least two years’ experience in food service is required, one of which (or more) should be as a bartender. Knowledge of craft beer and cocktails required.

Must possess ability to work as part of a team and under pressure, good verbal communication skills, a positive attitude, and empathy for others.

Experience working in a live performance venue and/or being a fan of live comedy is a plus. Experience with point of sale systems required (Toast a plus).

Our staff is friendly, down-to-earth, smart, and provides excellent customer service throughout our guests’ experience at the venue.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner as they arrive, answer questions, and provide excellent customer service

  • Prepare quality beverages with care and speed

  • Cut off/deescalate problem customers (rare)

  • Clean, organize and restock bar inventory and equipment

  • Remain informed about offerings at VCC (beverage program, food menu, comedy programming, etc.)

  • Ensure all operational requirements are adhered to, including: VT Health Department requirements; VT liquor law; safety protocols; opening & closing check lists, etc.

  • Train new bar staff and communicate with all F&B staff to ensure smooth operations


REQUIREMENTS

At least two years front of house customer service experience in the F&B industry, at least one of which should be as a bartender. Experience with point of sale systems (Toast a plus). Department of Liquor Control certification required (training will be provided if necessary).
