COVID-19 PROTOCOLS AT VERMONT COMEDY CLUB

  • RULES FOR THE DAYTIME CAFE.

    [updated Jan 2023]
We no longer require guests to provide proof of Covid-19 vaccination to enter the cafe.

Also, masks are encouraged, but not required.

As always, we are happy to provide you with free masks.

  • RULES FOR SEEING A SHOW.

    [updated Jan 2023]
We no longer require Covid-19 vaccination proof of masks in order to see a show at the comedy club.

We do STRONGLY ENCOURAGE both of these measures, as we want to keep everyone as safe as possible.

We provide free masks for anyone who wants one.

If you are feeling sick, please stay home! WE WILL REFUND YOUR TICKETS. Just email us at boxoffice@vtcomedy.com.

Please continue to: test if you don’t feel well, get boosters as recommended, mask for the benefit of the immuno-compromised, etc. Thank you!

  • IF YOU ARE EXHIBITING SYMPTOMS.

If you are a ticketholder exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 (cough, runny/stuffy nose, fatigue, sore throat, headache, fever, chills, etc.), or other contagious illness, please STAY HOME! We are happy to refund your tickets if you let us know in advance that you aren’t feeling well. (Email boxoffice@vtcomedy.com or call 802.859.0100.)

  • RULES FOR TAKING/ATTENDING CLASSES.

Students are no longer required to be Covid-19 vaccinated to take classes at Vermont Comedy Club.

Masks are optional and at the discretion of the student.

Most classes take place in our spacious showroom with no more than 15 students. The room has high ceilings and state-of-the-art HVAC with improved filters.

Students exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19 or other contagious illness are asked to stay home; the instructor will catch them up on what they missed.

  • RULES FOR OUR EMPLOYEES.

All our employees are required to be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19. They are no longer required to wear masks, but are encouraged to do so.

Our employees are also encouraged to test frequently, and we keep rapid tests on hand for them to use. This helps us spot breakthrough cases and keep employees home until they test negative.

  • RULES FOR PERFORMERS.

All visiting performers at Vermont Comedy Club are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

Local performers (open mic, showcases, etc.) are not required to be vaccinated, but are encouraged to do so.

  • SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS WE'VE MADE.

Reduced capacity. Prior to 2020, a full house used to be 160 people. We’ve dropped that down to 120-140, and even moved our sound and lighting booth out of the room to give more space to guests.

Contactless ordering. Getting a beer or an order of fries is as simple as pointing your phone’s camera at the QR code on your table and making a selection; it will automatically come to you! (Of course, we still have physical menus/verbal ordering if you prefer to do it that way.)

Air filtration. We had a pretty modern HVAC system before the pandemic, but we’ve upgraded the filters for better air quality. Our system has always A) brought fresh air in frequently from the outside, and B) had dedicated “zones” (so the air you’re breathing in the cafe isn’t the same air people are breathing in the showroom, for instance). We have also added 2 highly-rated standing air purifiers in the showroom for increased protection.

Touchless appliances. We’ve replaced paper towel and soap dispensers in our restrooms with automatic, touchless technology. (Please wash hands thoroughly after using restrooms!) We’ve also added several hand sanitizing stations in the venue.
